Day in the Life 1.23.24 – Snow Day Edition

Good morning and what day is it anymore?! Wednesday? My gosh, the kids have been off of school so much, that I can’t even keep track.

My calendar yesterday said, take day in the life blog photos…well it turned out to be an ice day, so that’s what this day in the life is all about!

And we’re up! Hit the snooze a couple minutes because I needed it!

Minutes later, I got the call – NO SCHOOL! The kids were going to be pumped. I did have a lot of errands on my to do list for the day, but oh well – I can be flexible!

The roads were pretty bad, so I’m thankful they did.

Next up, finalizing the blog post for the day.

Then took a look at my seed starting checklist. I’m feeling a little behind, was hoping to get more done!

After a little computer work and a mind at ease knowing we had no where to be in the morning, I started my routine.

I made our bed…

Much better!

Time to head downstairs and hydrate! First up, my lemon water. Next, COFFEE

Andrew got back from mass, so we sat and enjoyed some coffee together before he went up to work!

We started chatting about spring break and this little lady was up!

Next up, was this guy!

We sat around chatting about spring break for A WHILE, the gave up. Everything is just so expensive!

Next up, I pulled out the crock pot for pulled pork dinner. I already had the meat defrosted the day prior!

Okay, by this time, it was after 8.

I let the kiddos watch Bluey while I took a shower.

Shower done and time for some lotions, ESP because we are staying in today!

Okay, all done – letting the hair go wild today.

Time to get some chores done…

Dishwasher…

Then mudroom…

Water my seeds!

Tommy had been asking me to work on a lego set with him and I was finally ready to sit down!

Heated my coffee for the 3rd time and now to get dinner in the crockpot!

Then, I sat down again at my computer to try and print pictures for a school project. It was taking forever!

I let the kids get started on the project…

Then Andrew came down for lunch, so I joined him. Leftovers from last night – homemade chipotle bowls!

Then I made the kids an easy lunch

After that, they suited up to play outside!

I got a couple things done in the meantime and once they were back in, I put them to work!

The sock bag was overflowing and needed matches to be found ASAP!

I told them they could earn their final chore chart check which means a trip to the toy store! They did a great job (even though there were a lot of mismatches from them!)

I did some laundry again…it never ends.

And finally posted on my flower instagram page…

Next up, I told the kids they could make a dessert. At this point, Tom had put himself up for a late nap. He seemed tired and a little cranky so it was good for him.

Audrey and JP decided on rice krispie treats – with a snow day spin!

So beautiful!

By this time it was 6:15 and ready for our dinner.

On the menu, pulled pork sandwiches, mac n cheese and broccoli!

After dinner, it was up to get changed to head to the high school basketball rivalry game. My brother is the head coach, so we love going up to the games!

First, I snagged a krispie, YUM!

We went to the game, boooo they lost, but it was a good one!

Then got the kiddos back home, teeth brushed and in bed!

I hopped in bed and got some things done and off to bed!

And there you have it! Just a random, snow day, day in the life!
